According to the AA the average fuel cost per month of a family car is €149/£116 per month, equal to €1,788/£1,393 per year. Not so for the little Indian manufactured REVAi which costs a mere €0.01c/ per km or a total of €204/£159 in electricity costs per year. That’s a saving of €1,595/£1,243 per annum, not bad for a price tag of about €12,000/£9,356
REVA have expanded their sales to include the UK, Malta and Japan and have sold 250 cars in London. London Mayor Ken Livingstone’s recently imposed congestion charge could see more sales for these little beauties given that they are perfect for nipping around town. The REVAi is being test-marketed in ten countries including Norway, Sri Lanka, the US, Ireland, and Romania. The company can produce 6,000 units a year and is planning to expand its capacity to 50,000 cars a year. On top of this REVA insist they offset everything they produce, however lets face it offsetting is a bit of a contentious issue as we have seen with a lot of discussion in the goal section. Add your thoughts All in all though you have to say not bad for a little motor.
