Vegbox junkies

For anyone who gets, or is thinking of getting, a weekly vegetable box. Talk of suppliers, food miles, ethics and what to cook with all that leftover kohlrabi.

Mine comes from Barcombe Nurseries, local Sussex growers.

Has always been Able and Cole in the past - as they are very flexible. Haven't got one since we moved to Brighton - thinking about giving Riverford organics a go.

I often go to the local farmers market in Ranelagh, Dublin on a Sunday but now I just discovered www.homeorganics.ie where I can order online and they deliver straight to the door:-)

I live in Hackney, east London. I get my weekly veg from the Growing Communities - a local organisation which also runs the farmers' market in Stoke Newington. They're really focused on reducing food miles, as well as sourcing fresh, organic produce.

I live in Wandsworth London, we've used Able and Cole for about a year now .. but as I've just moved I'm considering my options. A&C are great, but I'd like to see what others there are out there.. I'll try and put my findings back here.

We got ours from http://www.onlyorganic.org/ who are a local supplier to Oxfordshire.

More recently we buy stuff from our local farmers market.

I considered using Able and Cole down here in Hove, until I found out they drive here from London. Seemed a bit pointless to me, so I went with Barcombe Nurseries (as local as possible, right?).

http://www.rivernene.co.uk/ and the people who run our local franchise (cambs) are really lovely.

I've got my past two from Riverford organics http://www.riverford.co.uk

Very tasty they were too :)

We use Able and Cole. After some growing pains a few years back they became a bit unreliable and so we switched to Riverford.

Riverford weren't great - they seemed to send mostly big bags of leaves. After a while we switched back to Able and Cole, who I'm glad to say have fixed their problems and are smashing again.

    Om nom nom veggie nom.
