Save my disposable coffee cups to plant seedlings into

My colleague suggested this. I was wondering if the paper disposable takeaway coffee cups were recyclable and he suggested planting seedlings into them. Lots of plants don't like having their roots disrupted when planting but with paper you can plant the whole thing.
