- Where can I find a market in Camden, that isn't an expensive "organic" luxury shop? Any allotments owners flogging off their produce?
- can you tell us more about this?
- By registering with MPS as one person mentioned, government letters will not be received is propergander, I question this as we received a non addressed letter from our Council with a suggested Tree Preservation Order asking we agreed, disagreed or suggested that more trees be added. If I had opted for this type, I would not have been able to save a tree near us that has an abundance of wildlife in it....any thoughts
- Are we really making any difference by changing to Airtricity? As I understand it, Airtricity do not have enough renewable energy supply so top up from the grid. As more people sign up with Airtricity they will just top up more from most likely ESB supplied sources. I think only way to really make a difference here is to supply your own. is there another approach?
- We live on a very wooded lot with about 95% of trees onour lot being Pines. What kinds of things can we grow in that environment?

A Green New Deal
I’ve just been reading through some of the action plans laid out in the Green New Deal report by the New Economics Foundation. Drawing inspiration from President Roosevelt's response to the 1929 Wall Street financial crash the report focuses on the ‘triple crunch’: a combination of a credit-fuelled financial crisis, accelerating climate change and …

Shebeen Chic
Ireland, a country famous for its countryside, writers and poets and of course our love of the drink. How apt it is then that the country's first ‘green' boozer has opened opens its doors.
Nearly everything you see inside ‘Shebeen Chic’ has been recycled from old buildings or taken from auctions, down to the 1940s corrugated-iron bar frontage. “We’v…

Friday's Green Icon

With so much controversy surrounding the Beijin Olympics the focus of today’s green icon is Pan Yue, deputy director of China's state environmental protection administration, who has become a hero for his willingness to stand up to corporations and local governments that jeopardise public health in the rush for economic growth.

Bound to mushroom!

Ecovative, a N.Y. start-up, has come up with a fungal solution to home insulation and Styrofoam packaging.
Greensulate is made from a mixture of water, recycled paper and rice hulls (a form of agricultural waste) which is injected with living mushroom cells inside a mold and then placed in a dark environment. There the cells begin to grow and sprout…

Friday's Green Icon

This week’s icon is a man with a belief in the idea that humans can have a positive ecological footprint, one that actually supports Life on earth. He’s also got the academic credentials to back that statement up, and the wherewithal to do something about it, and that is a powerful combination.
He’s also German, and in my book that makes him very e…

More Oil.... Whoopee!!!
We are saved, check out this BBC article. It seems that there is a load of oil and gas under the Arctic ice sheet and luckily its melting rapidly so we will be able to get our hands on it really easily. Phew... no need to panic then, we have sorted it out again, God we are clever!!! I cant say I see it, in fact its quite Ironic. The figure shows th…
