I've had s&#$# luck with cars. My first car's engine exploded on the freeway, had to be towed 40 miles home. I've always hated driving, even though it may be faster than cycling or public transport, I find it draining and frustrating. Happy to say I've been car free for 5+ years. I cycle day to day and get a car for occasional trips, about 3 per year.
