  1. In certain countries (such as US/Canada) the voltage is lower, and there is no way to switch off at the wall save for unplugging. Do we know if the impact is purely electrical principles, or how things are wired from country to country? 1 answer

      I imagine you could always use a power cord and use that switch to switch your appliances (and laptop charger) off. Though how much latent energy that draws I'm unsure of.
