Turn the tap off when I brush my teeth
This might just be the easiest goal ever. Turning the tap off when you brush your teeth will save a staggering 8760 litres of year per person. Stop pouring money down the drain, turn that tap right off and give your teeth 2 minutes of brushing. You could always try and visualise 8760 litres of water to pass the time.

Always try to do this but once in the habit it's easy only trying to get the kids to do the same is not so easy!...I sound like my own parents....one day they will get it and I can stop nagging them!

The trick (perhaps akin to stupidity) is that I use the hot water to brush. This way, if I leave the tap running, I'm punished by a mouth of pretty damn hot water!

I've never left the tap running when I brush my teeth. If you find that you are getting too much foam in the mouth then try reducing the amount of toothpaste you use.
My wife used to go through eight tubes of toothpaste to every one of mine. I nagged her not to use as much, but she said "That's how much they use on the tele" after further questioning she revealed that "the tele" meant the toothpaste adverts!
She is now down to a "pea sized blob" and this has reduced her foaming at the mouth a lot and only has to run the tap for half the brushing time. Obviously this is still a work in progress, but I hope I can encourage her to reduce her use of toothpaste and water!
Oh and less toothpaste doesn't cause dental problems, I haven't had a filing in the last 15 years> -
As with so many goals, it's all about getting into the right habit.
