I have one plant that is doing well - we don't have any more because we usually end up killing them. However - I think I'll get some more and make sure that we truly look after them.

I have a gerbera on my bedroom windowsill...i admit i talk to it...and it has a name/she has a name...Gilly the Gerbera lmao. But they are very easy to maintain if people are struggling...and she is pretty. Haha-you all know you do it too!!

Adopting plant is easy. Keeping said plant alive long enough is a much harder goal.
Well Paul if the fingers are not so green I suggest these low-maintenance houseplants recommended by Mike Gettler of Lowe's and Darin A. Pines of U.S. Farms Inc.
Aloe vera. A drought-tolerant plant with a short stem and thick, fleshy leaves. It is vulnerable to overwatering.
Cast-iron plant (Aspidistra elatior). As its name may suggest, this plant is hardy and tolerant of neglect.
Chinese evergreens Emerald Beauty and Maria Christina (Aglaonema commutatum, Aglaonema Maria Christina'). Both of these flowering plants thrive in low-light settings and grow well during winter months.
Corn plant (Dracaena fragrans Massangeana'). Does well with low light and will last for years in the home, eventually growing large and canopy-like. It can tolerate full sun. Requires watering every seven to 10 days.
Cycad (Encephalartos ferox). Slow-growing and drought-tolerant plant native to Africa.
Golden pothos (Epipremnum pinnatum Aureum'). This plant with colorful foliage requires low sunlight.
Green ti plant (Cordyline glauca). Holds up in low light and will grow upright and become tall over time
Janet Craig (Dracaena deremensis). Grows well in low-light conditions and will also help clean the air of the home it's in.
Jade plant (Crassula argentea). A drought-tolerant plant with thick branches and smooth, fleshy leaves. Susceptible to overwatering and freezing temperatures.
Lucky bamboo (Dracaena sanderana). Native to tropical West Africa, this plant does not need soil and does well in low light.
Rikki plant (Dracaena Rikki'). A plant with yellow-green foliage that tolerates medium light levels while growing colorful leaves.
Sago palm (Cycas revoluta). Native to southern Japan, this plant does very well in high heat and cold temperatures.
Snake plant (Sanseviera). Does well in low light, can be watered every seven to 10 days. It also grows upright and fits well in a corner.
Song of India (Dracaena reflexa). Requires moderate watering and prefers medium to low light. A variety is Anita, which can tolerate medium light.
Widow Haworthia (Haworthia cooperi). This plant with fleshy pointed foliage deals well with extreme temperatures and little water.
ZZ plant (Zamioculcas). With smooth, shiny, dark green leaves, this plant tolerates low light, grows slowly and does not need to be watered or repotted often.

do you guys have spider plants over there? they were the first plant i ever kept alive and they're great and cleaning your air!!
mmm...i can't figure out how to delete that...even though it says spider plant int he goal. but, they're good for those of us with brown or black thumbs
