Change my garden lighting to solar power

Solar-charged garden lighting is much more environmentally friendly than its outdoor security lighting cousin. It's just as practical but prettier too. Widely available from shops and garden centres they are just the thing to light up your prized garden gnome all by the power of the sun.

I installed a solar lighting kit in our Sauna/Guesthouse. It's brilliant, saved a fortune of cash and materials by not digging a trench for the mains cable.

Also a small solar panel plugged into the cigarette lighter of the car means that the battery will be kept charged all the time. This way you don't have to use fuel to charge it every time you drive, and the battery should last many years longer, especially if you don't use the car that much.

I found a great bargain at Robert Dyas here last summer. 18 solar lights for the price of 6. Worth looking out for again as i notice they are starting to pimp the bbq and garden furniture.
